Remarketing Pixels

Disclaimer: Please be sure to update any Privacy Policies, Terms of Service, and any other relevant documents for any relevant changes if you enable Nobi’s remarketing pixel data syncs.

Overview

Nobi can send search query data to Facebook Pixel and Google Tag Manager when a shopper searches on your site. This lets you build retargeting audiences based on what shoppers searched for — for example, showing sweater ads to people who searched for "sweaters" on your store.

Prerequisites

  • Facebook Pixel must be installed on your site for the Facebook toggle to have any effect. Nobi fires events to the pixel that your site has already loaded.
  • Google Tag Manager must be installed on your site for the Google toggle to have any effect. Nobi pushes events to your site’s dataLayer, which GTM picks up.

How To Enable

  1. Go to your Nobi dashboard and navigate to Assistant → Configuration.
  1. Scroll down to the Remarketing section.
  1. Toggle on "Send search data to Facebook Pixel" and/or "Send search data to Google Tag Manager" as needed.
  1. Each toggle saves immediately — no separate save button needed.

What Nobi Sends

When a shopper submits a search query through Nobi, the following events are fired (depending on which toggles are enabled):
Facebook Pixel: Fires a standard Search event with the parameter search_string set to the shopper’s query.
Google Tag Manager: Pushes a nobi_search event to your dataLayer with the field nobi_search_query set to the shopper’s query.

Building Retargeting Audiences

Facebook: In Facebook Ads Manager, go to Audiences → Create Custom Audience → Website. Select the "Search" event and filter by search_string to target shoppers who searched for specific terms.
Google Ads: In GTM, create a trigger for the nobi_search event and a Google Ads Remarketing tag that fires on it. In Google Ads, build a remarketing audience based on that event.

Privacy And Consent

Nobi fires events only to pixels that are already loaded on your site. If a shopper has declined tracking cookies (via your consent management platform), the pixel will not be present and no data is sent. Nobi does not send any data directly to Facebook or Google — it triggers events on your existing pixel installations.
You are responsible for ensuring your privacy policy and cookie consent banners adequately disclose the use of search data for retargeting purposes.
