Nobi For Search
One of Nobi’s core features is the ability to quickly and accurately search your product catalog (and your Knowledge Base) so your site’s visitors can get what they need with less hassle. Most of our customers that sell products online incorporate Nobi into their site as a search engine or product recommendations assistant. This page provides a high level overview of using Nobi for these types of searches.
What shoppers get
- A chat bar/search bar on your site that handles both natural language ("comfy office chair," "dress shoes for a wedding") and short keywords ("burgundy sweater," "GY1519") with the same accuracy.
- Sub-second results powered by semantic understanding, not just keyword matching when in search mode. Nobi knows that "comfy" maps to "ergonomic" and that a wedding shoe is a dress shoe.
- A row of filter dropdowns above the product grid so shoppers can narrow by attributes like color, size, fabric, or product type without leaving the page.
- Conversational follow-ups after the first search ("do you have these in wide?", "which is better for wet conditions?") that hand off to Nobi's chat experience without losing context.
How it works at a glance
A shopper types into your search bar. Nobi runs a hybrid semantic plus keyword search across your catalog and returns the ranked products. The result page shows the matching products plus a row of filter dropdowns built from the attributes those products share. The shopper can pick filters to narrow further, click Show More to load additional products, or open Nobi's chat to ask a follow-up question. Each step refines the same conversation rather than starting over.
